Welcome to another Q&A of our regular Tuesday Q&As and seeing that the month of the

l'Hidja is almost upon us.

I thought that I would do a cluster of questions in our first Q&A about the issue of the

the Old Hayah or Qorbani and so I chose two or three of them and Allah them together.

Brother Muhammad from London emails and he asks about the rulings of the Qorbani when

we are not going for Hajj, what are the procedures and what aspects should a person be aware of.

And brother Nihal emails from New Jersey asking whether he should do Qorbani on behalf of

the Prophet ﷺ and sister Injila from India writes that she cannot afford a full goat

on her own but if she and her sister both combine together they can afford an animal

if this is permissible can she combine with another person and to give one animal is

that permissible.

So this is our first question I just lumped all of these together and of course this is

a very important question for this time frame we are about to enter the month of the

Ruhidja and as we are all aware one of the rituals that is strongly recommended or perhaps

even obligatory according to one opinion is the Udhayah or the Qorbani of course the

term Qorbani is used in the Southeast Asian cultures Urdu Hindi and Bangladesh speaking

people is used the word Qorbani and the Arabic term is not Qorbani it is Udhayah and Udhayah

so Qorbani of course means sacrifice that which is offered to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
