Summary
(00:00-26:45) – Query & Company opens on a Friday with Jake Query, Jimmy Cook, and producer Eddie Garrison discussing the Indiana Pacers losing at the hands of Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves. Later in the segment, they touch on Liam McNeely’s decision to decommit from Indiana University a day after Mike Woodson was announced as the coach next season for the Hoosiers.
(26:45-34:25) – About an hour prior to the show, Mike Woodson met with local reporters to preview this weekend’s game against Michigan State. During his media availability, he was asked about the upcoming recruiting class. Jake and Jimmy react to Woodson’s comment.
(34:25-47:24) – Hour one concludes with Indiana University of Indianapolis’s Athletic Director Luke Bosso to explain how hard it was letting Matt Crenshaw go, shares what characteristics that they are looking for in their next men’s basketball coach, reveals where their long term home will be for IUI basketball, and states that he wants the next head coach to get back to recruiting student-athletes from the city of Indianapolis.
(47:24-1:17:00) – The second hour of the show starts with Jake and Jimmy continuing their discussion from earlier in the show about Anthony Edwards starting to become the next face of the NBA at 22 years old. Additionally, Jake and Jimmy open the phone lines for Purdue fans to share what they are proud about with this year’s Boilermaker team.
(1:17:00-1:25:40) – Jake asks Jimmy if he was up late last night sweating out any of his conference tournament college basketball bets. Those two then shift the conversation back to Mike Woodson and the future of the Indiana Hoosiers with zero recruits in the upcoming recruiting class coming to Indiana.
(1:25:40-1:34:39) – The one o’clock hour concludes with Jake, Jimmy, and Eddie discussing the likelihood of Caitlin Clark driving the pace car or something with the Indianapolis 500 this year.
(1:34:39-1:59:32) – Mike DeCourcy from the Sporting News joins Query & Company ahead of the conclusion of the regular season for the power five conferences to discuss where he has some teams seeded. He states that Purdue is locked in as a number one seed regardless of how many games they win in the Big Ten Tournament. Additionally, he states that he doesn’t believe in teams peaking at the right time when it comes to the tournament, lists some teams that are playing good basketball right now, and accesses the job that Thad Matta has done at Butler.
(1:59:32-2:09:07) – Team Chip Ganassi Driver Scott Dixon joins Jake Query & Jimmy Cook on Query & Company ahead of the start of the NTT IndyCar Series this weekend in St. Pete to recap what he did this offseason, explains how race courses change from season to season, and echoes what Jake says regarding recognizing what driver is in what car with a lot of sponsorship and driver changes for this season.
(2:09:07-2:22:12) – Today’s show ends with the JCook Plays of the Day. Also, Jimmy and Eddie discuss the news about Bennedict Mathurin being out for three or four games and some NFL rumors.
