Are we living in a moral panic or a regular panic that's true. It's like a moral panic, but like a good moral panic like a real one.

But I don't know if that makes it a moral panic that I think it would be a moral panic if we had like almost no coronavirus and we were circulating unsubstantiated Facebook names talking about like fake coronavirus stories.

Yeah, but really coronavirus was like this really minor problem. There were much worse viruses.

I've never hoped for moral panic before, but here we are. Yeah, no, we're not going to get that out of this.

Yeah. And so today we're doing something a little bit different. We're kind of doing a year wrong about book club.

Oh, partly because I realize recently that a lot of the episodes that I have most enjoyed doing and then I feel like listeners have most enjoyed at least the ones who've been letting me know are the ones where I'm basically reading a book to you in tiny increments.

And I wanted to do that. Yeah, today we're doing I mean, I guess it's kind of a bonus episode. It's sort of like an addendum to our previous podcast about Satanic panic.

It's kind of a weird episode because this is about my show. Remember is which is something that I have long classified for years classified to myself as the patient zero of Satanic panic texts.

Ooh. It's really fascinating. It's weird. It's dense. It's out of print. And so you don't tend to happen across copies of it that often.

I think it's just section interesting text in terms of what it helped create in terms of history, but also what's going on in the book itself.

So yeah, so we're going to go through this book in sort of slow drip narrative style and just kind of talk about as we go along.

Let's not say slow drip. That's kind of scary. And it sounds like torture. Okay, let's put it this way.

Some of our episodes are really eventful and have twists and turns and you go through a lot. And this episode is going to be more like the pirates of the Caribbean.

You're just going around looking at all the little situations saying, oh, that's wow.

So we're going to savor this one. We're going to do it do to Simo because I just watched your lies.

We're going to do this like a tube float down a lazy river. Oh, yeah, that's good. That's one. Yes, let's let's keep that.
