going to try and answer them, not talk about them, well, both actually, for the month of

October. And I'm going to kick off with a question, do I need to plant my bulbs as soon as they

arrive? If not, where should I keep them? It's a really, really good question, actually. So I'm going to

start with hyacinths, which I know aren't very in fashion at the moment, but we love

them for their fragrance and we love them for forcing a bit early, so we have things to look at

and smell and enjoy in January and February. And I love them in the garden, particularly

Anastasia and Woodstock, which are blue looks like a bluebell and woodstock is the color of beetroot

juice. So those are real favourites of mine. Now those, you want to plant straight away. So if they're

forced, you want to get them into the cool and the dark. But if they're garden varieties, which are

the slightly cheaper ones, you want to get them in. Because we find that they go soft, because they're so big, they go soft quicker than others.

So you really, really want to plant them as soon as they arrive.
