Summary

While we change our habits and mindset to pursue the goals that matter to us most, it’s important not to forget to make loving ourselves and others a top priority too. For today’s show, Ben and Ashleigh will be talking about this concept using three keywords – friendship, forgiveness, and fat! Before that, though, we hear their thoughts on cardio workouts, breath work, enduring pain, different ideal physiques, and why it’s important that efforts to achieve a goal be motivated by personal development rather than trophies. Next up, Ben opens up about his personal journey with bodybuilding, his parents, and the relationships he undervalued along the way. He has realized that the pursuit of optimal health should be far more well-rounded, and this involves cherishing those who matter - even if they have hurt you. Sometimes we get resentful about a person’s behavior, as Ben did with his dad, and he shares some techniques he used to develop more empathy that led him toward forgiveness and ultimately, more love. We hear about the community Ben is trying to build next, and how important this notion is for creating a shared sense of support.

From there, Ben and Ashley talk about the idea that achieving a goal – burning fat for instance – is all about changing one’s habits and mindset. Our hosts show a lot of vulnerability and share meaningful ways to be a happier, healthier, and more loving person in this episode so it’s definitely one to tune in for. Before wrapping things up though, they get into some listener questions about recovering from hernias, getting better sleep, and how to gauge if one’s resting heart rate is too low, before sharing about their love for some of the well-known products mentioned on this show. This includes BLUblox, today’s sponsor, so head over to https://blublox.com/muscleintelligenceand get 15% off your first order using the code ‘muscle’!

Also intelligence, Ben Pocleski, Ashley Van Houten, bringing you the best information in the world is hopefully starting to open up. I don't know where everyone's listening to this. And hopefully if I'm speaking out of turn, I apologize. But it really feels like, you know, the powers that B are starting to acknowledge that maybe this, it's time for us to start getting outside, being a little bit more active. Now, I will say this, they opened the beaches this weekend, was the first weekend

0:54.2

they opened, and now they closed them again because people weren't, they were so busy.

Everyone's like it looked like Fourth of July or it looked like spring break. This is just crazy

1:02.8

1:07.4

I mean, who wants to go back to that nonsense again right but how are you doing i'm good i mean

1:11.9

1:17.7

1:23.1

kind of see yeah the light at the end of the tunnel a little bit as far as this goes but you're right

1:27.3

i mean i think the biggest issue we have to deal with is not, when are we going to come

1:30.8

out of this?

1:31.2

Because we all know we're coming out of it and we're taking steps to do that now.

1:34.9

It's how to like temper our excitement and enthusiasm and still show a little bit of

1:38.8

common sense while we're out there kind of getting back to real life. And I found myself guilty of too, right? It's like, you're just like, oh, I just go back to normal life and you have to be a little cautious.

And so I took my kids to Whole Foods on the weekend.

2:01.8

cutting holes through me with their with their looks. But again, I'm of the belief. I could be

2:07.0

incorrect, but I'm of the belief that if you're, if you're checking all the boxes to cover health,

2:12.2

then you should be great. And maybe we should go through that, right? What are all those boxes? And, you know, I wrote, I think I've mentioned this a few times over the last few weeks. I wrote a document on the most essential habits

2:21.4

to transform your body. And then that transitions into all the steps to start transforming
