So I think tree peonies are sort of a bit revered and people tend not to touch them.

But they're tough plants and yes you can

move as a well-established tree peony. I would suggest moving it in the autumn. You know, it's a

deciduous plant so that's when you tend to move any deciduous shrubs really. The soil is still warm

and there's enough moisture over winter so you know if you forget to water it, nature does it for you.

So yes, I would move it.

Will it affect the growth of the plant?

Yes, it might check it for a year or so.

But if you've got an overgrown, people tend to let them get very leggy. You have long stems and then

a few flowers at the top. But you know, you can prune them. It's fine to prune them. I'd suggest

maybe pruning them after flowering. And don't necessarily take the whole thing down. If you've got

a really old established one, take one large stem down at a time.

You'll see it pushing out growth from the base of the plant.

And you know then you'll get stems to replace what you've taken off.
