We start this episode with the latest on the White House's plans to end the war in Ukraine.

Russian President Vladimir Putin says the U.S. plan could form the basis towards ending the war, quote, in principle,

and says the plan is in line

with the discussions at the U.S.-Russia summit in Alaska earlier this year.

That's what the Kremlin said today, in a readout of a phone call held between Putin and

the Turkish president.

The 28-point peace plan put forward by President Donald Trump puts pressure on Kiev to see

territory, limit

the size of its military and promise not to join NATO.

But Ukraine and Europe have already outlined what the red lines are in the peace negotiations.

For example, Keeve has long rejected the idea that it surrenders key territories in the

Dombas region, which would include heavily defended

Ukrainian towns and cities, which are seen as essential for the country's security.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen says Ukraine must have the freedom and sovereign

right to choose its own destiny.
