Summary
There is a lot we don't know about the motivations behind..and the consequences following Wagner group leader Yevgeny Prigozhin's actions in Russia this weekend. What we do know about what one senior administration official calls a "very bizarre episode," is that there seems to be a pause, at least for now, due to a truce struck between Vladimir Putin and Prigozhin that was brokered by the President of Belarus, a Putin ally. The terms of that deal are still emerging, but even after Prigozhin abruptly stopped his march to Moscow yesterday, there remains trepidation about the risks ahead on this unpredictable path for Russia, which holds the world's largest nuclear arsenal.
