Welcome to Searchlight. A survey through scripture with Pastor John Corson. It is our desire to bring you a

systematic study of the entire Bible chapter by chapter book by book. It's hard to say that one portion of scripture is more important

than another. God puts it all there for a reason, and it's all part of God's plan.

Nevertheless, there are certain teachings from the Bible that seem to have a profound impact on our walk if we really get them.

Today's teaching is one of those times.

We are going to look at a story in 1st Samuel chapter 3

that illustrates a very important point for us. If we hear God speaking to us and believe

his word, it can bless you in your relationships with others. Let's now join

Pastor John as he shares this very practical spiritual truth with us.

Now in 1st Samuel, chapter 4, we saw that Israel was at war, battling against their perpetual enemy, the Philistines.

They engaged in a battle against the Philistines, and in the first battle of that particular war, in the first battle of that particular war,

in the first skirmish, Israel got their clock

cleaned.

4,000 Israelites went down were wiped out.
