I'm Erin Allen.

Do you remember the last time you moved?

Even if it went smoothly, it was probably still stressful and overwhelming.

But did you know that back in the 1800s, people in Chicago moved on the same day,

like all at once at the same time? Here's producer Justin Bull with that story.

The last time Edgewater resident Margie LaFranier changed apartments, she moved from one

third floor walk-up to another.

That required coordinating with eight separate people about blocking the alley.

I hate moving. My favorite apartment, I lived in it for 11 years, and I never wanted to leave that apartment.
