The motorcycle didn't come first on this adventure. This was about doing something different.

Actually, it was really about avoiding a predictable flight, about changing that predictable flight into some kind of adventure.

A true adventure in which the participants were arguably unprepared,

likely didn't have the background or necessary skills for an adventure of that magnitude,

but they weren't trying to fool anyone either into thinking that they were any of those things

Instead of complaining each time one of the yearls broke down or eventually even trying to swap off the yearls for a different kind of bike

They just began counting the breakdowns, 972 breakdowns, all of which they managed

to fix one way or another along the way.

They got stuck, they dragged the bikes through raging rivers, they tore engines down,

welded broken parts countless times, ran out of fuel, ran out of food, began starving.

The type of adventure that probably nobody would choose to repeat but in the same breath no one would
