I get to chat with Ryan Zer, one of the founders over at Vine Ventures.

And this is a fun interview.

We were able to do this in person.

We were both in New York City for the Horizons Conference.

And if you were at the conference, I hope you had a wonderful weekend there and got to see some really great talks and connect with everybody.

And I'm a little bum that I was only there for part of the time

on Saturday. I really came in pretty late, met up with Ryan, and then was able to attend a talk

or two and kind of just hung out in the hallways and outside catching up with people. So if you

didn't catch me this time, hopefully in the future, another psychedelic

conference. So Ryan Zer is the founder and managing director of Vine Ventures, an early stage

venture fund focus on psychedelics. And he's also the co-founder and director of Dialectic, a family

office with a focus on alternative asset management. And Ryan has consistently delivered an extraordinary

returns through a decade in venture. And previously, he held senior roles in deploying utility

scale renewables globally. And so in this episode, we really chat about the recent news that

MAPS released with this funding coming from Vine Ventures. So

Maps, I believe is receiving around $70 million from Vine Ventures through what's called the

regenerative financing Vine, which is a special purpose vehicle, an SPV. And so it's helping to

raise the capital to purchase the rights to the

revenue share. And in return for the $70 million, the SPV receives 6.1% of the North American

MDMA revenue for eight years following the initial drug sales. And there's also some reciprocity

that comes with the SPV. So yeah, it comes
