He has worked in federal policy for nearly two decades, including at Vera Institute of Justice and the American Psychological Association.

been in long-term recovery for over eight years.

initiatives on criminal justice and children, youth, and families, and co-directed APA's Congressional

Fellowship. In his role there, he launched a national coalition devoted to behavioral health

and criminal justice, helped craft federal legislation addressing the needs of incarcerated pregnant woman and convened congressional briefings on police community relations and prison mental health.

Prior to joining APA, he worked in government relations at the college board.
