Thanksgiving had no idea mom was planning on bringing her new boyfriend.

Things were going to get ugly over the weekend.

Yep, she's not sure exactly what she should do or how she should handle this because

like you mentioned after 30 years her parents are, well, they got a divorce and now mom

less than a year later has moved on to someone new and her sister is aware that mom went

on a date with a new guy a few months ago, but she's not aware that they have been dating

ever since and it has gotten really serious.

So mom brought up to the daughter that she was going to bring the new boyfriend to Thanksgiving.

Problem is the other sister not only does not know about this guy, but she's not happy

about it.

She wasn't even happy about the fact that they went out on a date and she hosted Thanksgiving

and this is going to also be the first time that dad won't be around.

So she was trying to figure out if she should talk to her sister about maybe trying to put

that she wants to decide and just be happy for mom or if she should talk to mom and say

that it's a little bit selfish to bring a guy to Thanksgiving after a first year when

dad is not going to be there.

And I think the majority of the advice was look, let mom be happy.

There's going to be some awkwardness but try to get through the day together.

Is that right?
