forward to the psalms getting back into the songs been a while so tonight we're going to pick it up

where we left off uh last time we were in the psalms we finished with psalm 62 so we'll pick it up in

psalm 63 and lord willing make it to uh psalm 66 i'm so sorry about the cough i hope it won't be a distraction. I'll do my best to take lots

of fishermen's friends so it won't be. Why don't we pray? And we'll ask God's blessing on our

time together in His Word. Lord, thank you so much for the book of Psalms and just the richness of its meaning to our lives,

and especially for those of us who find ourselves going through a trial and a difficult time.

Lord, these Psalms are such a soothing bomb on a hurting heart.

And so Lord, tonight we're looking forward to our time together in the Psalms and we would

just ask that you by the Holy Spirit would speak into our lives, minister to us

in our lives, in our time together.

We pray.

All right, let's jump in.

Verse 1.

Now we're told that Psalm 63 is a Psalm of David, and we're

told specifically that it was during a time when he was in the wilderness of Judah.

Verse 1, O God, you are my God.

Early will I seek you. My soul thirst for you. We just actually, if you didn't notice,

and I appreciate it when David does this, but we just actually sang this Psalm in part.

So he says, my soul thirst for you, my flesh longs for you in a dry and thirsty land

where there is no water, having just come back from Israel and being there in the

wilderness and seeing just how dry it is. There's nothing but rocks and it's so dry. And
