Hey everyone, this is Mary DeMeath. This is Pray Every Day, where I have the joy and the privilege of praying you through the Bible verse by verse.

We're going to read two Psalms today, one of our favorites, I'm sure, Psalm 23, the Lord is My Shepherd, and then Psalm 24.

And after each one, I will pray for you. So here we go. This is in the World English Bible, and some of you have asked,

why do you use that translation?

It's just because it's free, and I don't have to gain permission.

And so this is what it says.

Psalm 23, a Psalm of David.

Yahweh is my shepherd.

I shall lack nothing.

He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He

restores my soul. He guides me in the paths of righteousness for his namesake. Even though I walk

through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me. Your rod and your

staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of

my enemies. You anoint my head with oil. My cup runs over. Surely goodness and loving kindness shall

follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in Yahweh's house forever. Mind if I pray for you.

Lord, I need rest. We all do. We want to know and internalize the fact that you are our good shepherd, the good shepherd who leaves the 99 and chases us,

Lord, when we fall away and when we stray.

Lord, a shepherd who, even if we're surrounded by people who don't love us and don't like us and who are enemies, you still prepare a table.

We still get to feast.

And we do that in your presence, Lord.

We lack nothing with you. And Lord, I know that many of us today need to lie down

in green pastures and sit beside still waters. We need restoration of our soul today. Lord,
