Good evening once again. I am Stephanie Ruhl and welcome to the nightcap. I know it has been a long week,

but let's look ahead to the year because we are now 297 days away from the midterms. And this very

week, we watched for ourselves the video of an ice agent shooting and killing Renee Good in Minneapolis,

Minnesota. We watched people take to the streets across the country to protest what they saw.

We watched leaders in Minnesota say they have been locked out of the investigation as they asked

for ICE to leave their state. And we watched the people who run this country, who have the highest offices in this country,

call this dead woman a domestic terrorist without any evidence

just hours after she was killed.

With that, I want to bring in our nightcap, our first one of the year,

and it is a very special one.

I've made peace with the fact that the people who are the most shameless people in this

administration are not going to suddenly find something resembling a conscience when it comes

to the conversation around this.

So I just want to speak to that instinct that I have.
