Hello, everyone, and welcome to Slash Film Weekly. It's Wednesday, March 25th, 2026. On today's episode of the show, we are going to be talking about Project Hail Mary and present interviews with the filmmakers and star, ready or not too, and we'll have interviews with the writer directors and cast, Peky Blinders, the Immortal Man, and we'll have an interview with creator Stephen Knight Knight and HBO's DTF St. Louis, and

0:22.0

we'll have some interviews with the showrunner and two cast members for that as well. My name is Ben Pearson. I'm an editor at slashfilm.com. And yes, we do have a jam-packed episode for you. Before we get to that, I wanted to give a quick shout out to A24, who sent me the score for Marty Supreme on vinyl, which I think, I mean, sinners aside,

0:39.5

was my favorite score of last year.

0:41.4

I think sinners, Marty Supreme, and one battle after another had like absolutely tremendous

0:46.0

all-timer scores in 2025.

0:49.0

And my God, just listening to this Marty Supreme score again on this spectacular vinyl I just got,

0:55.1

I cannot get over the fact that the score was not nominated at the Oscars for Best Original

0:59.6

Score.

1:00.0

It blows my mind.

1:01.1

How the Academy could have overlooked this is some sort of Oscars travesty in my mind.

1:07.3

So I just wanted to give a quick shout out for that.

1:10.1

It's a beautiful, beautiful score and

1:12.4

very like ethereal and synth driven and it's got that 80s inflection that is really wonderful,

1:17.9

that doesn't really jive with the actual period of the setting for Marty Supreme, but just

1:24.1

somehow works so wonderfully within the context of that story. And it's really,

1:29.4

yeah, one of my favorite scores, not just of 2025, but in a long, long time. So please check that

1:33.9

out if you're interested in great movie music. And let's now get into some movie and TV news.

1:40.4

There have been so many news stories here. I'm going to drop links as usual to a lot of the stuff in the show notes.

1:46.1

I'm just going to touch on some things because we have so many interviews and movies and shows to talk about that we just don't really have a ton of time here at the top of the show.

1:54.2

But I wanted to mention, first of all, that as of yesterday, word came out that Open AI is going to be shutting down the SORA AI video app,

2:03.6

which good riddance to that. And Disney was supposed to be investing $1 billion in that company

2:12.7

and agreed to license some of its characters for use in SORA. And now a source tells the Hollywood Reporter that Disney is exiting that deal with OpenAI,
