Hey, this is Derey and thanks for joining Pied Save the People.

You know, I've been told that in moments of uncertainty, that explanation over eloquence

works in this podcast is with John Legend who talks about his work in activism and then

David Kamehman who talks about taxes.

You know, this context that we're in is not as much about Trump as it is about a wave

of ideology that has not been good to people of color, to people of marginalized communities

to women that is now coming to for.

And so many ways Trump is the product not the producer.

And what I know to be true is that the people who got us here won't be the people that

get us away from here.

So when I think about Pied Save the People, it is both about making sure people understand

the issues and also about teaching people things that they didn't know.

What is also true is that none of this is inevitable that people made this.

So the focus on taxes today is on making sure that people understand it well enough to

be able to change it in the future.

Hope is not naive belief that things will get better.

Hope is an understanding that tomorrow can be better than today.

So now we have my two cents and reflection on the news with me, Brittany Pagnette, a member

of President Obama's Task Force on 21st Century, leasing and the Ferguson Commission and Samuel

Sinangui, a data scientist with Campaign Zero.
