I'm definitely not unique because I'm black and because I'm queer and because I'm a woman

or because I'm even a soft stud that exists in the world.

But there are very few of us that are safe on the cover of Vanity Fair.

And so I think that's the way I open my eyes to that it's not so much about me even though

I'm very flattered that people take to me and they like me and they say kind things.

They send me a lot of love and good vibes.

But I think it's less about me specifically and more about what I represent.

I think this is going to be a regular thing that we do, the Micropod, sometimes with guests,

sometimes with me, but so far it's with Algy and Isaac.

And we were, again, unplanned and one of it is I wanted to, I wanted to prime people listeners

for the Lena Weith pod, which I think is tremendous.

But one of the reasons why I wanted to get Lena on board was I think it's incredibly important

that she represents not only African American culture but LBGT life.

And also I find it fascinating how she's been able to carve out a narrative that is representative

of what she believes in.

And I think that there's a lot that I can learn and other sort of people of color or people

that have been marginalized or people on the fringe can find some inspiration because

she's done something unbelievable.

And the fact that like there was no mainstream reflection of someone that is a female lesbian

that's also black from the inner city of Chicago that is fucking ball in hard right now.
