Welcome to the Triathlon Taryn podcast. This is very exciting. I get to start the show. Normally you start the show.

0:06.4

I don't like this. It's like I'm handing over the wheel. Give me my remote back. How's your day been?

0:13.5

You know, you've been there. You've been there every day since March. That's true. We haven't been away from each other.

0:26.3

So we've got a great guest today, Angela Naith, Canadian triathlete and fellow sufferer of Lyme disease.

0:28.3

We'll get to a little bit more of that in a minute, but we've got some business to take

0:32.4

care of, and it's good business because we're going to talk about my watch.

0:35.0

Look at you saying sponsor-y type things. That's what we do

0:38.3

here on the triathlon tern podcast. Garmin, one of our sponsors is Garmin, and I have been wearing the

0:44.3

245 music, and it is a fantastic entry-level watch, and it is definitely entry-level, because I am as

0:50.3

entry-level as they get to exercising. Fun fact, Kim just yesterday accomplished 28 straight

0:57.7

days of exercise after, what is it now, 12 years of suffering through Lyme. And you got through 28 days

1:05.8

and you are now a data junkie. Like coming home from runs like, oh, did you know what my pace was?

1:12.0

What do you think my pace was? Because I can tell you what my pace was. Yeah, but then,

1:15.2

then you're like, I show you the screen of like, oh, look, where my heart rate was here. And you can

1:18.8

tell exactly when I took my walk breaks and whatever. And you're like, yeah, yeah, you don't want to see my data, interestingly enough. I am as little of a data junkie as a YouTuber could

1:29.3

possibly be. But let's talk about the Garmin 245. So over the course of December, if you have to

1:35.9

purchase an entry-level exercise watch, the 245 is what Garmin told me that they recommend. Now, it doesn't have the multi-sport

1:46.5

function of being able to go into a triathlon and then hit lap and then it calculates your

1:52.3

transition one, lap again, move you to the bike automatically, hit lap again, transition two.

1:58.1

But it does have swim bike run. So it has them separately so you can still do a

2:02.2

triathlon. You can still do all of your training and the entry level price point is really

2:07.9

attractive for a lot of beginners. Well, one of the great things too about that watch. I just want to say
