I've read that you started racing cross-country and eventually ended up competing in slope

style. How did that progression unfold for you?

Yeah, that's pretty opposite ends of the sport, I'd say.

Yeah, so I grew up in Louisville, Kentucky, and cross-country racing was what was accessible

to me, and I started hanging out at the local bike shop and then got a ride to one of the

races, and I loved it, and it was just riding trails as fast as you could.
