Well, the 2021 NCAA tournament is here, and we have got your big 12 preview. I'm Pete Mundo,

Heartland College Sports Weekly is the show. Heartlandcollege Sports.com is the site. And as we do each and

every time this week, we'll welcome on our guy Matthew Postens here as we get you set for

the first NCAA tournament in two years. It feels weird to say,

say it like that, but here we are. Matthew, welcome on in. Always good to have you on the show.

And let's just start with these games in order. We'll do it that way. It seems like the best way

to go about it here and talk about every Big 12 game over the next 20 minutes or so.

Let's look at Texas Tech taking on Utah State. That's the first big 12 game. It's a 1245

central time tip off on Friday. What do you look at this game and say to yourself, all right,

tech's there as a sixth seed, maybe could have gotten a

little bit better if things had gone better at the end of the season. What are we looking at here

with this Red Raiders squad right now as they go to take on Utah State? Well, I think the big thing for

them from a scouting standpoint as I look at Utah State is they're going to have to deal with

a legit seven-footer in Nemeas Quetta,

who's actually one of the best shot blockers in college basketball. He's averaging a double-double.

He had a great Mountain West tournament. I think he had four or five blocked shots per game in a

mountain-west tournament. So he was sending shots back the way Caleb Boom is sending shots back

into the big 12 tournament.

So tech doesn't really have a single player that can really match up with him.

You know, Marcos Santo Silva is their, is they're starting forward.

He's about two, three inches shorter.

So they're going to have to use some combination of him, Tyreek Smith, maybe a couple of other players that have sides in their bench and try to maybe do some creative things defensively to make sure that he doesn't hurt them too much.
