This is John Bachelors. I spoke with my colleague Colonel Jeff McCauzzon in United States Army

0:05.6

retired CBS News about the damage Progozons done already. The unknowns are ahead of us,

0:13.8

where Progozon is, what he's negotiating for, is plain darting around Moscow. But the

0:19.8

damage he's done to the Army, to the confidence in the leadership of the Army, and the doubts

0:25.6

in the Kremlin by Progozons' demonstration of disloyalty. Here's Jeff.

0:32.5

No, I think it's absolutely correct, John. And once again, following the example of urban

0:37.0

rumble, it wasn't his direct participation necessarily in that particular plot. It was his knowledge

0:42.9

of that, what he was convicted of. And I doubt very seriously, by the way, that Mr. Seroviken

0:48.3

will be given the option of committing suicide. But it'll lead that test of loyalty down to the

0:53.7

officer corps that Mr. Putin may well pursue. And he has to do this, I think, because the one

0:58.4

1:03.3

Moscow. That was these, you know, for family-laden, volatile videos that he would publish. And the most

1:11.2

recent one, prior to the March North, undermined the entire legitimacy of the war, pointing out that

1:17.5

there was no threat posed by Ukraine, that there were no Nazis in the Ukraine, that Russians

1:23.4

efforts to demilitarize Ukraine had actually occurred in the opposite direction. And pointing out

1:29.0

to the Russian people that while the elites in Russia had their children either outside the

1:33.7

country or avoiding conscription, there were those who were not in the elites that were being

1:38.5

sent off, having their children sent off, to be butchered on the front lines with very poor

1:43.7

equipment, very poor training, and very poor leadership. So the undermining of that legitimacy

1:49.2

makes this attack by Progozons that much more important. And then furthermore, of course,

1:55.2

it really raises the question, how in the name of goodness could anybody imagine that the Russian

2:00.9

army is going to integrate the Wagner group and those Wagnerites who accepted into the Russian
