This is John Bachelor, conversation with my good colleague Colonel Jeff McCausen,

the United States Army Retired CBS News about Storm Shadow, the UK missile that is

much in the news. There is an equivalent in France, there is an equivalent in France there's an equivalent in Germany.

The request from Kief is to use it to strike into Russia.

The hesitation is

the White House has not decided whether to give Britain permission

and by extension France permission and by extension Germany permission to transfer the missile into Ukraine. It's

air-launched as I understand. Why this matters a deal is it turns out as Jeff is about to inform you there's a limited

amount of them and Ukraine has used a lot so the complications of can we can't we also add to is there is there not. This

is Ukrainian war coming to no quick conclusion but certainly there's an escalation in the battlefield

using missiles against Russian military sites throughout Russia within reach

of an air-launched air-to-ground missile that is said to be very effective and very accurate.

Well, in terms of how they resolve on the use of the storm shadow, also the French scalp and the American

attack them.

Obviously, the Ukrainians request to be able to use these weapons as far into Russia as they

can fire them to push the Russians back and reduce their ability to use

these glide bombs, bring aircraft close to the border and then launch glide bombs on Ukrainian

cities.

I think that this eventually will be allowed by the

Ukrainians with thumb restrictions that it has to be against fixed military

targets, can't be used obviously against civilian facilities, oil refineries, electric infrastructure, and the like.
