This is John Batcher, conversation with my colleague Conrad Black writing at the National Post about the University of Toronto and its sluggish response to the anti-Semitic conduct by students and others on the campus in the spring of 2024. In addition to the encampment and anti-Semitic remarks and posters and handouts, there was a demand

by the protesters, the agitators, as Conrad calls them, to examine the university investments, something to do with not investing

in apartheid. Conrad has extremely forceful response to this demand and the fact that the university

was willing to entertain it.

The University of Toronto is a properly legally established and venerable corporation of the

university of international reputation and uh... and and uh... the matter of

its finances are handled by trustees chosen by duly elected governors of the university

and they operate independently and are qualified people who have a good record of increasing the

value of the university's endowment but that's their job they don't to share that with a bunch of universities and

town them but that's their job they don't have to share that with a bunch of you know a bunch of

agitators shouting racist slogans and trespassing on university property
