I spoke with my colleague Gregory Coppoli of Defense and Foreign Affairs about mysterious

goings-on in the Chinese Communist Party, removing the foreign minister no explanation or racing

him from history, removing the commander and the deputy commander of the rocket forces,

the critical rocket forces with the nuclear weapons, no explanation just gone, replaced by an

aporacic commissar and a deputy from the Navy. Gregory observes this is consistent with the PLA,

the People's Liberation Army, losing patience and no longer regarding Xi Jinping as a trustworthy

leader. Also, the PLA registering that it does not believe a war is necessary or imminent or that

it could do well in a war with the combined might of the surrounding states plus the United States,

India, Vietnam, Japan, the Philippines, Australia, South Korea, plus European entry by the United

Kingdom and France, all arrayed around Xi Jinping's idea of expansionist imperial China. The PLA

does not believe it says Gregory. His Gregory's explanation about what the PLA can do with Xi

if he chooses to survive and obey his Gregory. She is going to have to find a way out of the corner

into which he has painted himself. So either that or the military will find a way to remove him

and replace him. The fact that Xi has eliminated most of the obvious and normal succession within the

party means that the military might have a difficult job in finding a credible succession process.

Either that or they will say, he will take over as a martial law government. We'll go back to

the regional controls because quite clearly there are parts of the country which are going to

really suffer enormously if going forward unless we do something about it. But it's a really

existential threat to the entire continued existence of the Communist Party control. Now they'll do

something. The question is, what is it they'll do? I'm John Bachelot.
