This is John Bachelor, conversation with my good friend and colleague Bob Zimmerman behind the black about Saxeavord, that is a spaceport in Scotland that has not yet secured business to be a space port. The UK has decided in its wisdom

to hand out cash to start-ups, new companies to launch from Saxe-Vord, one in particular a German company.

However, Bob raises the question here as to why not solve the other problem,

which is the bureaucracy of the United Kingdom that we believe kept Virgin

orbit from launching once upon a time and has discouraged other companies from

launching in the UK? So is there a solution? Bob Zimmerman on the

United Kingdom in Scotland handing out cash to companies that come forward to

launch from Saxe- abhorred, at least for now, and one particular company,

High Impulse, looking like it's going to take the money.

What this appears to me is that the United Kingdom has decided to pay off a bunch of different rocket startups to keep them

from leaving the UK for their launch operations.

The biggest grant here was to the German rocket start up high impulse.
