This is John Bachelor, conversation with Ronan Wordsworth in Cape Town, South Africa of

The ANC, the African National Congress, failed to win a majority for the first time ever in the recent

elections in South Africa, leading to the necessity to form a government with another party

to make up more than half of the parliament votes.

However, the African National Congress has no experience with negotiating with

other parties, or not much experience experience and right now the quandary is what is to be done.

There's a deadline Sunday the 16th I believe and by that time if there's not a government formed new elections which

Ronan Wordsworth tells me no one wants however working with the other partners is very difficult for a group led by Ramaposa,

serial Ramaposa. The most obvious choice would be some of the parties that were consistent with his

understanding of the ANC once upon a time. Several of them are breakaways from the ANC.

There are a lot of thou shalt not.

As one particular party, the DA, it is said to be led by all white constituents.

That would be natural for ANC to work with except rejection by other members of the ANC.

In other words we're looking at nothing works.

Something must by Sunday or new elections.

So that as long as Ramaposer is at the head of the ANC, I think that's very very unlikely both

Zuma and Rooverzor have said that they will categorically not work with you together

Zuma is the only person that hasn't actually accepted the election results and disputed

some of the results despite their evidence that they were conducted free and fairly.
