This is John Batchelor. A conversation with Richard Epstein, senior fellow at the Hoover Institution,

a professor of law teaching at NYU and the University of Chicago, about a case before the Supreme

Court that will be heard in April, the Fisher versus the United States.

This turns on the charge of obstruction, part of a federal statute, obstruction. meaning Mr. Fisher entered the capital on January 6th and is

charged with obstructing the business of government.

Richard very carefully analyzes the reason for that statute.

It was written during the Enron period and the two parts of that statute.

Obstruction is the second part.

This is about the language of a statute that's not

only being used to prosecute Mr Fisher, but also is two of the charges against

former President Trump at the upcoming trial about January 6th prosecuted

by Special Counsel Jack Smith.

Obstruction is Richard to explain as best we can at this point not only obstruction

but how the court will respond to Mr Fisher's case when it's heard when it's

heard before the court in April.
