This is John Batchel, conversation with colleague Hassan Akane, former ambassador from Pakistan

of the United States, now a senior fellow at the Hudson Institute, about the prospect of a

relationship, working relationship positive between the Trump administration and the president

himself and Saudi Arabia, in particular MBS, the Crown Prince, pointing to

the good working relationship in the first term between Mr. Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner,

and MBS developing possibilities for the future, the Abraham Accord being one of them right now.

And could this resume what will it look like

in a war-torn Middle East

with seven fronts battling to destroy or undermine Israel?

I think that he also has a relationship beyond the son-in-law and probably has a relationship

with others, both on the professional side, the team that President Trump will put together,

as well as other members of his family. You remember that he, you remember that picture with the orb and everything.

And, you know, it was his first overseas visit President Trump's to Saudi Arabia.

So I think that that relationship is strong and both leaders are prepared for some kind of a transactional engagement for mutual benefit.

And I think that works well for the Crown Prince.

It works well for President Trump.
