She is in Bucharest, Romania, professor.

Commenting on the votes in France, the votes in Britain,

and how this will affect the EU and NATO.

Romania is a member of the EU, it's also a member of NATO.

Britain is not EU, but it is a dominant voice in NATO so is France and what this will mean

for Romania going forward because they're on the front line of the Ukraine war

they're directly threatened Their neighbor Moldova is

directly threatened by the Russian aggression. They share a border with Ukraine,

the Danube, the channel that the Ukrainians are using now to get their grain out runs right by the coastline of Romania.

They're in the mix of Russian aggression.

What does the vote mean in Paris and in London?

And the complicated answer includes the Middle East.

Here's Antonio Kalabashano to explain Romania's point of view

in the meetings ahead, the vote in Paris and the boat in

London, then the big NATO meeting in the middle of July and Washington. More of

this tonight. So for us within NATO, the question is how will the Middle East, North Africa, will affect Europe and NATO in the years to come and how will that affect the conflict in Ukraine considering the priorities levels.

So that's the most interesting part of the story, if you will, with regards to to Ukraine we are no longer having just the

Ukrainian conflict we have the economic global war that has been going on

since 2022 we have the Ukrainian, but now we have a complex issue in the Middle East and everything

is restructuring and we understand that this is going to affect Europe and likely NATO.

So all of that chatter in the UK is tied immediately to the Middle East and through that to Ukraine.
