His new book is The Unvanquish, The Untold Sturb Lincoln Special Forces,

the Manhunt for Mosby's Rangers,

and the Shadow War that forged America's special operations.

Here Patrick introduces us to the Dahlgren raid on Richmond, the capital of the Confederate

States of America.

Dahlgren and his men were given an assignment to raid and burn Richmond if possible

if they were successful and surprisingly Confederate pickets and the defenses of Richmond.

There was one more controversy.

Was Doggren also ordered to assassinate Jefferson Davis.

In other words, was this a decapitation raid?

Doggren did not survive.

However, there are clues. The unvanquish is the book, Patrick O'Donnell, the author, much more of this tonight.

The plan is to use Kilpatrick as sort of a decoy force that distracts the South.

Well, Dahlgren, who's a son of a union general,

who's missing a leg from his war service,

he has a false leg, is to ride along the backside of Richmond

and then attack and strike the city

and burn it to the ground and kill its leaders.

And this is considered controversial for obvious reasons.
