This is John Batchelor, conversation with my good colleague Richard Epstein, Professor

Richard Epstein of the Hoover Institution, about proposals for national rent control brought

forward by the Biden administration capping what a landlord can do year

after year to raise rents.

Richard speaks to that and also to recommendations from the Supreme Court led by Clarence Thomas

that the way to deal with rent control to do away with it

because it limits and damages large cities, especially New York.

He is on a case-by-case basis.
