Speaking of a new Rand Corporation report, declaring that the U.S. is not prepared to fight a major war, meaning China and Russia

combination. Not prepared. Why? The industrial base, something obscure from the past past but here it is.

Yes, John, it is very reminiscent of these past experiences that we should have learned from,

and we've had warning for at least two decades about the rise of the PRC and the threat that it extends not just to our allies but our own national security.

And as this report from Rand states clearly, the defense industrial base has not been prepared and so these

are not simple fixes that can be done overnight and so we're in a tough spot and

it needs an all hands attention to this.

It should be, given the nature of this election we're in,

it should be something that both candidates would be talking about

because it will affect, this report says correctly as well, this will affect every American in

if there's some kind of an event that China launches an attack or an invasion of Taiwan

or takes something towards the Philippines. It will affect every American.
