This is John Batchel, a conversation with colleague Andrew McCarthy at the National Review Online about the pardon of Hunter Biden extending back to 2014.

Andy reasons this way that there will be additional pardons because once pardoned, Hunter Biden can no longer take the Fifth Amendment,

challenged by a prosecutor or in a grand jury to answer

questions about what Andrew McCarthy calls the Biden family scheme of influence peddling that

achieved $27 million, perhaps, according to James Comer's Oversight Committee in the Congress.

Hunter Biden can no longer take the Fifth Amendment and refuse to testify.

Yeah, that's right.

You always want to have an insider witness where that's possible who can explain the entire

scheme to the jury.

And this is why, again, John, I think it's right to emphasize and to shine a light on the Hunter Biden pardon.

Because now they now have a person, doesn't mean he's going to cooperate with them.

Let's be clear about that.

But they do now have a person who is at the center of all of the

activities who has no right under the criminal law to refuse to answer questions and refuse to

cooperate. So that's why I think there'll be other pardons.
