It's a real danger.

And this is based on a recent memoir by Joseph R. Detrani.

I've known Joe Detrani since he was at the CIA.

He was one of the first operations officers to actually work in CIA public affairs in the past it was always analysts they never they never wanted the operations people sully by having to deal with the press.

But Joe has an amazing career.

He was once the station chief in Beijing.

And in his memoir, he said he's been dealing with North Koreans since the late 70s when he was in

Tehran and when he was posted in Tehran two North Korean diplomats tried to run him over, him and his wife over in the parking lot of the

Tehran Hilton Hotel.

Joe would then go on to become a special envoy on the North Korean nuclear issue so probably more than any

diplomat or intelligence official he has had the most experience dealing with the

North Koreans and he provided some some details that I'd never heard before having covered this for over 20 years

But his his bottom line was the likelihood of an intentional or accidental conflict with with

North Korea with with nuclear armed North Korea is greater now than in any

time since the 1953 armistice that ended the Korean War.
