Landers, one of the three astronauts on Apollo 8, featured in Bob's book, Genesis, the story of Apollo 8, the first man flight to another world.

Bill Anders is gone, and what he leaves behind is a tribute to the can-do attitude of the

astronauts of the 1950s and 60s and here Bob explains how dedicated they were, how this was their

style but also the style of America in the 60s

All the astronauts in the entire space 60s all carried the same quality a commitment to what they wanted to do and they

would they would not give up they would if you they if they set a goal for

themselves they would work without stopping to get that goal

it was it was their it was their central that that's that and it was an American ideally you know

you get a you commit to if you have a get a you commit to you make it happen and all three of them

would not willing to back down they would they're going to make it happen
