Donald Trump, USMCA, and the allegation that China will deceptively build a factory in Mexico to sell

cars to the United States. Mary is very clear this will not happen cannot happen however this is about tariffs and

USMCA and the success of the USMCA since the Trump administration negotiated it in the first term.

There's much more to the USMCA than Chinese cars.

Let me just correct one thing you said there.

Mexico is now our number one trading partner.

Canada is a close second.

So basically this reflects how successful the continental trade agreement has been.

The problem that Trump is trying to get at is he's saying China is going to go to Mexico, bring all its components from Mexico, all its, sorry,

bring all its components from China, all its steel, all its aluminum, all its

electric components, everything, make the car in Mexico and then

send it into the US as part of the USMCA. This is complete nonsense. This is

ridiculous. They're very stringent rules for USMCA

duty-free trading and they require as I before, all those obligations on the part of the manufacturers who want to do that cross-border trade.

So he's creating kind of a fake allegation that me that China is somehow going to be able to free ride off of USMCA.
