This is John Baxter, conversation with my colleague Lorenzo Fiori. He's in Venice for the carnival,

and we turned on that happy subject and what it's like. The last day of the carnival, we call

Mardi Gras, Shrove Tuesday. He's also there to watch very carefully the news, George Mollone's

government, looking to turn to nuclear power for the future,

back to nuclear power, after a long time of moving away from it.

After Chernobyl, they moved away along with much of Europe from nuclear power.

We know now that the Chernobyl plant was badly designed, and nothing like that exists,

to my knowledge, anywhere close to what Italy is going to buy. However, the major concern we have is the Pope's health.

Pope Francis has been in the hospital for some days and Lorenzo reports good news following less

than good news, but good news.

Here's Lorenzo on the Pope and the return to the Vatican.

Well, frankly speaking, a few days ago, let's say around five, six days ago,

we were very scared that the Pope could pass away.

He had a very important breathing crisis.

And so even the doctor in their bulletin said that the Pope was in very critical condition.

But let me say, after that, providing oxygen to the Pope with a very intense flux of oxygen

and also new treatment, the situation is progressively becoming better and better.

So, in my opinion, the Pope should come back to St. Peter pretty soon.
