The winds are rising again in Los Angeles.

The fires are burning, especially the Palisade and Eden fires.

How fast do the fires run once the wind hits them?

Jeff tells very carefully here you cannot outrun the fire.

That's correct.

If the winds are blowing at the speeds they were last week or that they say they'll be this week,

then you'll get a fire that nobody can outrun. And that happens quite often, unfortunately,

in these big brush fires, when people try to stay behind and save their homes, they can't

outrun the fire. And so when it's getting close, it's already on them and they never stand a chance.
