This is John Bachelor, conversation with colleague David Maxwell, traveling to Seoul Korea for a conference about unification in addition to remembering the one year anniversary of the summit at Camp David

between the leader of Japan, Kishida, the Prime Minister, the leader of South Korea,

President Eun, and President Biden working together to defend East Asia

and also working together for trade, for the future. However, this conference that David attended was about unification of the Korean

Peninsula. David explains what a pleasure was to see so much attention to the idea of solving security with

unification.

Not violence is working together in much the same way Germany united with East Germany, West Germany and East Germany.

It was expensive, it was arduous, however these many decades later, a great success, the

engine and the Bank of Europe.

Well, what pleased me was the consistent discussion of unification. I'm reading the press reports from it and they're focused on, you know, trilateral cooperation. They're focused on relations with Russia and China and North Korea.

A lot of the ideas that the press is focused on

are important and attention getting,

but the consistent discussion of unification and the

acceptance by all the participants, Korean, Japanese, and US and the commitment among all these thinkers that

unification is really the solution to the security problem on the Korean

Peninsula. That was really heartening to hear.
