inflation supply chain recovery, but chiefly about costs, the high

price of food.

Independent Grocers is what Salina is addressing right now. independent grocers that are part of a community

for decades.

And now, this is in a place called Murriesville, Pennsylvania.

The independent grocer is closing. and what does that mean for the

sense of community and also for the vote? Here's Salina Zito, Washington

And the independent grocer is a very important, very integral part of a community.

Lots of families, teenagers worked as baggers in the grocery store or stacking the shelves.

And a lot of their employees, they didn't work there for a year or two.

Some of them have stayed for 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 years.

It's a very set part of the community and people are just heartbroken.

It might not sound like, oh, why are you getting upset about a grocery store?

If you understand the sense of community, you understand that these kinds of small institutions

breaking down and disappearing, they have an emotional impact on a community.
