This is John Batchelor, conversation with colleague Jonathan Schanser, the Senior Vice President for

Research at the Foundation for the Defense of Democracy, is about the leak story.

Someone leaked, some part of the Israeli war plans to counter Iran's

ballistic missile threat. What I learned from Jonathan is small details. It's a moving story. The FBI is said to be

pursuing the leak criminals or criminal. The document contains something that

Jonathan describes as worthy of five eyes. The document The leak story is accurate, what's in it we do not have.

In any event, Jonathan is quite straightforward about what must happen

in the investigation and afterwards.

Well we don't know much.

Apparently it was designed for viewing by the five eyes, so US, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand.

It was an assessment produced, we believe, by the Pentagon, someone within the Pentagon about what kinds of targets Israel

would strike within Iran what kinds of capabilities the Israelis would likely or not likely

wield some of it was more sensitive the Israelis would likely or not likely wield.

Some of it was more sensitive than others.

In speaking to contacts in Israel,

they don't necessarily feel like this has changed much, maybe a little bit in terms of what their attack plan might be.

Some of it because of errors within the document, some of it because maybe it was already just sort of well known that certain targets would be stronger, certain capabilities would be used.

But I think really for me the big problem is that there appears to be a serious issue in terms of clearance violations, protocol violations,

within what appears to be the Pentagon. We don't know who is suspected right now.
