This is John Bachelor, conversation with Brandon Meicher, author of Winning Space about the new aircraft from Lockheed,

SR 72. It's a drone unmanned. It's meant for surveillance as Brandon introduces. The part I like is

that the Chinese spying as usual were extremely unhappy spotting an airplane that was in a movie, a

top gun movie and is now in practice, a hypersonic drone is Brandon to explain it's odd China buys the

Hollywood version of reality. Odd.

The S. 72 is a code named Dark Star.

When the last Top Gun movie came out, they built a mock-up of what they were calling Dark Star in the film,

freaked the Chinese out because they had satellite photos.

They thought, my goodness, the Americans finally did it. In fact what it is is it's

basically a hypersonic drone and as of August 21st I saw a report set from Alex Hollings over at sandbox news saying that in fact the

DoD has finally gone into production with this thing. Basically it's the if you're

familiar with the SR 71 the blackbird this is basically a more advanced

on-maned drone variant of that with many more bells and whistles, and basically it's to add to our situational

awareness because, as I just got finished saying, the Pentagon is waking up to the fact that

our enemies, notably China has

outpaced us in very specific areas.
