Jonathan Shenzer of the Foundation for the Defense of Democracy joins.

Comment on the administration, the Israeli government, and Hamas. This is about ceasefire talks, hostage exchange talks.

It's set for Thursday the 15th in Cairo. Will Hamas show up? Israel will.

The U.S. is very eager for these talks to work because Iran has said

maybe no attack if there's a ceasefire.

But is Jonathan Shenzer to explain all the caveats. More of this tonight.

To my knowledge, it's still on. This is what they're angling for, but it doesn't mean that they will arrive, it doesn't mean that they will arrive it doesn't mean that there will be people

attending on both sides it just means that this is the agenda right now and I will just note that I think the

U.S. is rather rather desperate to get these talks started again because this administration is very fearful of a regional war.

You can tell how concerned this administration is based on the sheer amount of assets that have been sent to the region.

There is a lot of firepower in the region right now, a lot of countries countries on edge and not just the Iranians and Israel

or and or Hezbollah and Hamas but you got to remember the Jordanians the Saudis the

Emiratis they're all watching.

They're very concerned about rockets flying into their airspace.

And so there's every reason for the region

to want to see talks continue for a possible ceasefire.

But the real question is whether any compromise can be made on the part of the Iranian

axis, especially while the Israelis feel

that they have the ability to push forward and to potentially destroy Hamas once and

for all.
