Conversation with my colleague Joseph Umar,

the Executive Director of Secure Free Society, about the

collapse of order in Haiti and what it means for the Caribbean.

What that collapse can do to disturb other parts of the Caribbean. We're looking at particularly

Guyana, the small state on the coast of South America that is threatened by its

huge neighbor Venezuela.

De-Stabilization leads to destabilization.

Haiti is a nightmare.

Kiana is not yet.

Here's Joseph Umar to analyze what we know so far right now about the emergency meeting in

Jamaica held in these last days attended by Secretary of State Blinken and the concern of all of the Caribbean

states for Haiti but also for Guyana threatened because of its oil wealth.

Yeah it's not just a wall, it's also a ditch in many places, so it allows them to also be able to not have easy

crossing.

But to answer your question, John, yes, 100%. I think if Haiti breaks out into a civil war,

we're going to see Haitian migration explode and a lot of that's going to go to the Darien

Gap because the route already exists.

It's a route that's been established, its infrastructure managed mostly by NGOs that's been

implemented.
