about three men who all fought against each other in the Second War.

Montgomery for the British, Patton for the Americans.

Well, Montgomery and Patton were rivals.

They didn't fight each other.

Well, they did.

But now with weapons, with words.

And Rommel for the Hitlerites. This is about Patton.

Risk taker, says the professor, is Lloyd Clark on Patton and his willingness to adapt to the tank,

despite the fact that he's a horseman, cavalryman.

That's how he thinks of himself. More of this tonight.

I think it is Patton showing his rebellious side, and again, it shows a man that's willing to take risks.

He perceived what the future held, and it was a future of armour.

It was a future of modern technology in which he could see himself playing an important part.

But as we've already said, he was a cavalryman.

He had grown up in the age of the horse and of the sword, and he found that very difficult to leave behind.

But he certainly was a great advocate of the tank,

but he had to trade very carefully for his own career for Oster.
