Spoke to my colleague Richard Epstein of the Hoover Institution.

About the violence that started October 7th and continues in the Middle East,

in addition to the violence in Ukraine that started February of 2022,

Richard confronts the issue of collateral damage, civilian casualties,

in the event that the Israelis proceed into Gaza, especially in North Gaza,

to eradicate, to eliminate, to neutralize the Hamas killers of October 7th.

Richard points to decisions made by leaders of the United States and the United Kingdom and Russia

about decisions like this that were made towards the end of the Second War.

What we're looking at here is an understanding that unconditional surrender is the aim.

We're not negotiating with Hamas.

The Israeli authorities have compared, I think, correctly Hamas to ISIS, ISIS tactics, ISIS.
