North Korea launches a spy satellite is the headline.

Speaking with colleague Rick Fisher of the International Assessment and Strategy Center,

I first wanted to confirm that North Korea did successfully launch after several tries, a spy

satellite in a polar orbit Rick tells me.

However, the question is, why now, why going forward after several failures, including one that was

recovered by South Korea from the ocean?

I asked about the visit that Kim Jong-un entertained, traveling to the Vlad Vostok region

and then on to the Space Board Vastachne. Meeting with Vladimir Putin, ostensibly

about transferring weapons and ammunition from

North Korea's arsenal to the fight in Ukraine.

However, there is the question of space technology, Ros Cosmo, is sophisticated and very expert in launching satellites, was it

transferred to North Korea?

Rick has a two-part answer.

The axis of resistance, that would be Moscow, Beijing, Tehran, also now includes

Pyongyang. With a spy satellite they're boasting about and with ballistic missile and
